I appreciate great outfits. You probably do too! When all the pieces of an outfit fit together beautifully it can take my breath away. Well-dressed men, women or children are walking-talking works of art.
That’s how I feel about Adena. Adena is a colleague of mine and I always look forward to seeing what she’s wearing. It will be dramatic, for sure. Her style words are dramatic, edgy, and elegant.
She’s tall and lean and some could say with a figure like hers its easy to look great. I don’t believe that. I’m sure she puts thought and skill into her outfit building.
Let me tell you what I loved about this outfit. Yes, it flatters her figure. The long, lean bias cut skirt fits her beautifully. I love how the white in the skirt relates to her platinum blond hair color. The squiggles in her skirt echo the same angle as her bangs. Her off the shoulder black top highlights her beautiful shoulder line. It also is so simple, yet dramatic, and a great companion to the lively print of the skirt. There is great texture in her handbag that also plays with the print of the skirt. Could it be more perfect?
Her necklace is chunky and great balance to the long skirt. The stone in the center of the cross pendant relates to her signature red eye frames. Everything seems weighted perfectly. There’s an art to dressing well. Isn’t it fun to see how great an outfit can be based on a classic color combination of black and white? It took my breath away!

August 11, 2013 at 7:15 pmOkay, Brooke, I had to look up the word “insouciance” and you are so right! There is an effortlessness to her style while being stunning at the same time. Quite a great achievement! Thanks for teaching me a new word!

August 13, 2013 at 6:47 pmBrenda, I finally got around to doing a blog post about what I’m wearing with white jeans this summer- the comments section on your white jeans post was closed so I thought I would tell you here. You asked me what my web / blog was called; it”s http://www.abitofbubbly.com. It’s rather amateurish I’m afraid, but I enjoy writing it!
